Rain Garden

Our Natural Filter

Our rain garden reduces runoff (oil and other pollutants) from storm water while also brightening up our park! It was simple to install and features well-draining soil and beautiful, easy-to-maintain native plants that help slow and filter the runoff water. Our rain garden helps keep water clean all the way to the mighty Columbia River which, in turn, keeps our fish and wildlife free of pollution.

The Alternative

Without a rain garden, runoff produced from rainfall picks up oil and a number of other pollutants from our streets and sidewalks. This runoff then pours into our streams and rivers endangering fish and other wildlife.

Benefits

A rain garden’s main benefits are preventing flooding and fighting off pollution. They are also a beautiful additon to any park, home or yard!
