Bldg. 15 will house first tenant in Steigerwald Commerce Center

Washougal, Wash. - July 22, 2013 - The Port of Camas-Washougal
today announced it has received $499,000 from the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) to fund the first building in Phase 1 of Steigerwald Commerce Center, the largest new market-ready industrial development in Clark County.
“In a period of 8 months, the Port went from groundbreaking to signing the first tenant for Steigerwald Commerce Center, said Executive Director David Ripp.  “Long-time Industrial Park tenant Foods In Season will locate their expanding business in Steigerwald’s first building, and expect to add ten new jobs as a result of this project.” 
The Port will construct Bldg. 15 and Foods In Season will complete the interior to fit their specialty business as a ‘Gourmet Fresh Foods Supplier.’ 
The Port will match CERB’s investment with $1,850,000 in local funds to complete the distribution center. CERB is focused on creating private sector jobs in partnership with local governments by financing infrastructure improvements which encourage new business development and expansion.

About the Port of Camas-Washougal
The port brings jobs and recreational opportunities through a 400-acre industrial park, a 79-hangar general aviation airport and 350-slip pleasure boat marina. Grove Field is a small, general aviation airport with a state-of-the-art fueling station and 14 tie-downs in addition to the 79 hangars. The marina is the largest publicly owned marina on the Washington side of the Columbia River and has a floating restaurant, launch ramp, nearby hotel, fueling station, guest docks and is homeport to the Dolphin Yacht Club. Newly acquired and in the planning stages, are 13.25 acres of Waterfront Property connecting a 14-acre parcel of port-owned land to the east of the marina. The industrial park boasts a 90+ percent occupancy rate of more than 40 businesses with an annual payroll of $8.9 million and is adjacent to Steigerwald Commerce Center, 120+ acres of property currently under development.
